THE OLDER ENTREPRENEUR.
The name The Older Entrepreneur is a Marmite name you either love it or hate it. I personally believe it fits well into today’s society and I make no apologies for naming this website
THE OLDER ENTREPRENEUR
We the older entrepreneurs are a growing band of people who for whatever reasons are now seeking to start or for some are already running their own business.
This site is here to help you find some sound advice quickly and short cuts to the information you need to forward your goals. Read this page first then..
From business plans, mentors, free press release sites, funding, marketing, or the big daddy of them all to conquer the task of being on the front page of Google search results. The dreaded SEO (search engine optimisation) or for many the question “How can faceBook or Twitter be of any use to me”
Like any journey we at the Older Entrepreneur need to start at the beginning and slowly work our way through, laborious I know, but the only method I know to reach our final destination, your success!

Planning
This website will save you time, effort and I hope inspire you to achieving your goals and avoid mistakes that could trip you up.
Every day you may make progress. Every step may be fruitful. Yet there will stretch out before you an ever-lengthening, ever-ascending, ever-improving path. You know you will never get to the end of the journey. But this, so far from discouraging, only adds to the joy and glory of the climb.
Sir Winston Churchill
You may have already spent many hours pawing away at your idea and contemplating how to bring it forward, I would ask you do this one more time after reading some of the articles within this site.
The articles are here to help and guide you with the one premise in mind to side step costly mistakes and failure.
Please follow these simple first Steps:
I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work.
Thomas A. Edison
Write a draft business plan, this does not need to be the full blown version looking like War and Peace at this stage, it’s simply a rough guide to your business idea. Sketch out your idea in brief terms, nothing to heavy at this stage.
Now you have this you have something that you can run by close friends and family to sound out the idea and gain valuable feedback. If people are negative; ask them why? Seek their true opinion and the reasoning behind it. (Keep a note of the answers) ask for any ideas
This is a must do!
You need to be 100/% certain that there is a market for your business. Too many people try driving their business idea forward because they and they alone believe there’s a market for it. You need to be sure so get started by asking around for peoples comments and search the web to check who if anybody is already operating this type of business. Who are the competition and also ask yourself what if any is your USP (unique selling point) Your USP is your gateway into any market.
If it’s something completely new and nothing exists already double up on research but don’t be put off.
Write everything you learn down plus any facts and figures.
Online or Offline, you will still need a GREAT Domain Names: (check this guide first before buying)
Whatever type of business you run these days a website is a must, it’s your portal to the world or even just to your locale neighbourhood everybody needs a website. Don’t limit your potential by not having one.
Play to your strengths, the knowledge, experience and expertise you have gained over the years in your previous employment, It’s this that sets you ahead of the field.
If you have a business idea that fits in with your interests then that’s better still, but to me it’s not a pre cursor to starting a new enterprise.
Do not rush but do not hesitate for too long either; keep moving forward and keep learning and planning.
